It's always a good time for adventure. That's why Mercedes-Benz and The North Face teamed up with the German Roamers (a photographic collective) for an epic tour through Canada and Alaska earlier this year.
More on our adventurers
Three members of the collective—Johannes Höhn, Lennart Pagel, and Hannes Becker—spent 13 days this summer driving over 1,864 miles from Whitehorse, Canada, to Anchorage, Alaska in two sleek G-Class SUVs. The video below shows the breathtaking backdrop of their travels, which was taken by filmmaker Mathias von Gostomski. Adventurer Hansjörg Auer, an extreme climber from The North Face, was also along for the ride.
“The German Roamers know just where to find and record the finest and most beautiful motifs off the beaten track,” said Natanael Sijanta, Mercedes-Benz marketing head. “The G-Class is just the right vehicle to reach these special locations and it fits authentically into the visual imagery.”
The incredibly capable G-Wagen
The crew was supplied with sleeping bags, coats and outdoor clothing, duffle bags, and tents from The North Face for their trip. The cold-weather gear certainly helped them battle the low temperatures of the Yukon. Of course, the rugged luxury of the G-Class vehicles also helped, as the SUVs not only provided shelter and reprieve from the aggressive landscape, but their twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engines, delivering 416 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, kept the crew traveling safely through the mountains in power and style.
