In this day and age, companies often push the “next big thing” into the face of customers. At Sears Imported Autos, we are proud to be part of an auto company that takes pride in its high-quality vehicles. A perfect example is the new 2016 GLS from Mercedes-Benz that was recently caught on camera by a spy photographer. Offering a number of subtle improvements from its predecessor, this model truly embodies what a luxury SUV should look and feel like.

The first thing you will notice is the name, which has changed from “GL” to “GLS” as part of the new Mercedes-Benz naming strategy. The “S” signifies this SUV’s positioning next to the S-Class models. The model also comes with a number of exterior refinements including a new bumper, headlights, taillight graphics, and grille design.

Inside is a revamped dashboard complete with an updated infotainment system and trim. The new display screen has also been mounted in the dashboard for added visibility and convenience. You want your cabin to be as classy and comfortable as possible when driving a luxury vehicle, and the 2016 GLS truly offers the finer things in life.

The engine options will likely be the similar to the 2015 GL models (pictured). A V6 turbocharged diesel engine should come standard, producing 240 horsepower and an impressive 455 lb.-ft. of torque. Moving up the lineup reveals a 362-horsepower V6, a turbocharged V8 producing a massive 429 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque, and a huge V8 pushing out 550 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque.

If you’re excited about one of the finest Mercedes-Benz SUVs to hit the market, then you’re in luck. This luxury model is expected to hit dealerships in fall of 2015, so stay tuned to the Sears Imported Autos newsletter for details.
