Just because your favorite team was eliminated from Super Bowl contention in week five of the season doesn't mean your Super Bowl party can't be championship caliber. Check out these five football-themed Super Bowl recipes from Sears Imported Autos and score a touchdown with friends and family.

Football Cake Bites

Eating cake while watching football can lead to all sorts of mess. That's why the folks at Diamonds for Desserts came up with football cake bites. All it calls for is your favorite cake recipe, favorite frosting recipe, semi-sweet chocolate, and white chocolate. After the cake is made, crumble it up in a bowl with frosting, snap off the doughy pieces, shape them like footballs, cover them in chocolate, freeze them for ten minutes, and draw on the stitches and lines with a toothpick dipped in white chocolate.

Football Whoopie Pies

If you can't find an egg-shaped cupcake pan, you can use regular cupcake pans with a bit of trimming. Make the cake batter according to the recipe with a top as smooth as possible. When done, cut the cupcake in half—half as in top-half, bottom-half. Brush off large crumbs. Spread a layer of white frosting on the top of the bottom-half and place the top-half on top. Trim the edges to shape the cupcake like a football, if necessary.

Football Sugar Cookies

Dessert doesn't get any easier than sugar cookies. Make the cookie dough as you normally would. Get a football-shaped cookie cutter. Bake according to directions. You'll need some brown and white frosting on hand to make it look like a football. Other options include shaping the cookies like football jerseys and decorating them with the appropriate team colors.

Football Pizza

The key to making party guests think you're the most amazing party host in the history of football without you actually having to do a whole lot consists of taking normal party food and making it in the shape of something football related. All you need to do for the football pizza is to make a normal pizza and arrange the toppings (pepperonis work best) in the shape of a football with slices of cheese in the middle to imitate the look of laces.

Seven-Layer Football Dip

Then again, some food just tastes better while watching football. Seven-layer dip is one of them. All you need is an oval-shaped dish and a little creativity. Simply stack the ingredients (such as salsa, guacamole, shredded cheese, etc.) with refried beans on top. Use a little sour cream to make the football laces and the football stripes.
