Mercedes-Benz vehicles are famous for their luxurious appointments, but owners and fans will know that there is more to the brand than flashy interiors. Indeed, virtually every Mercedes-Benz is a magnificent machine, full of speed, grace, and power. And perhaps no vehicle better personifies all of what it means to don the three-pointed star than the new Mercedes-AMG® GT3.

Fresh off its Geneva Motor Show debut, the Mercedes-AMG® GT3 is based off the equally stunning Mercedes-AMG® GT. While the GT was developed to deliver a true racecar experience on public roads, the AMG® GT3 was designed to usher in a new era of motorsport dominance on the track. And with a powerful AMG® 6.3-liter V8 engine lurking under the hood, that outcomes appears a forgone conclusions.

But the Mercedes-AMG® GT3 is more than just raw power, it features cutting-edge racing technology and spectacular design—two hallmark traits of every Mercedes-Benz racecar past and present. Altogether, this is one breathtaking vehicle that is a joy to behold and no doubt a thrill to drive.

Like the road-going version, Mercedes-Benz went to great lengths to keep weight down. The Mercedes-AMG® GT3 consists of a very lightweight yet extremely rigid aluminum spaceframe. Not only does that contribute to superb handling, but it’s also offers outstanding protection for the driver. In order to reduce the vehicle weight further, the engine cover, doors, front wing, front and rear aprons, sidewalls, side skirts, diffuser, hood lid and rear aerofoil are all made from particularly lightweight yet high-strength carbon-fiber.

While the Mercedes-AMG® GT3 remains very much a racecar designed to live on the track, this stunning specimen gives us insight into the tried and tested technologies littering the all-new Mercedes-AMG® GT.
