Your Mercedes-Benz SmartKey doesn’t just start the engine of your remarkable Mercedes-Benz. It also taps into some of the exclusive technology features packed into each innovative new model. The Sears Imported Autos team has some tips for how to get the most out of your SmartKey:
- Open the Windows – If it’s an especially hot day, you can press and hold the lock key. This will make the windows go down, allowing the hot air inside the car to escape before you step inside.
- Open the sunroof or convertible top – If your vehicle is outfitted with a sunroof, or your model is a convertible, you can continue to hold the unlock button and the sunroof or convertible top will also open, and you can prepare to enjoy the fresh air.
- Deactivate the SmartKey – If you don’t plan on using the key for a while, or simply want to conserve the battery, you can turn off the SmartKey functions by pressing the lock button twice. You can press any button to reactivate the key.
- Only Unlock the Driver Door – If you want to set the key to only unlock the driver’s door for security, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously. Now, when you press the unlock button, only the driver door will unlock. To reenable the SmartKey to open all of the doors together, just hold down the lock and unlock buttons again.
